XRPL Commons is dedicated to fostering the growth and success of the XRPL ecosystem. As a central hub for innovation, we explore new use cases and applications of the XRP Ledger, an innovative open-source blockchain. Our mission is to empower the community through comprehensive education, collaborative initiatives, and dedicated support for developers, educators, and aspiring entrepreneurs.

We are pleased to announce that in 2025 XRPL Commons collaborates with University of Lyon 1 and Laboratoire LIRIS on a 3 year PhD program (CIFRE contract).
This research aims to develop a framework to improve the interoperability of decentralized blockchain applications by creating models, methods, and tools that address transaction challenges such as data volume, computational complexity, and latency. The focus is on ensuring compatibility with existing blockchain ecosystems through standardized solutions. Key areas of exploration include the semantic representation, storage, and exchange of objects (such as transactions, images, and physical items), as well as ensuring their integrity and seamless integration for scalable, interoperable applications.
Institut Louis Bachelier
Building the definitive platform where ledger data meets cutting-edge research.
The project seeks to automate the collection of complete ledger history data while providing researchers with both the data and computational resources they need. Its objectives include hosting and maintaining full ledger history, developing robust metrics pipelines for in-depth analysis, and ensuring seamless access to this data via APIs. Additionally, the project aims to onboard at least five researchers to the platform, guaranteeing that high-quality data is readily available to tackle complex data science challenges.

Since April 2023, XRPL Commons has actively founded partnerships with academic institutions in France and worldwide, focusing on higher education, teacher training, and preparation for emerging professional needs in the blockchain domain.
Together with its academic and institutional partners XRPL Commons addresses the growing demand for blockchain and distributed ledger technologies (DLTs) skills across the world. We address existing shortages in blockchain expertise by providing institution-based training solutions and a strategic framework for blockchain skills enhancement resilient to future changes.

Winners present at Apex 2024.
École 42École 42 is a free coding school that operates without traditional instructors, featuring a 24/7, peer-to-peer, project-based learning model open to all, with no prior experience required. As part of our partnership, we developed the learning module, "Explorer," which guides students in building a Bitcoin block explorer—offering a hands-on introduction to blockchain fundamentals.
EpitaEPITA (École pour l’Informatique et les Techniques Avancées) is a renowned private engineering school in Paris specializing in computer science and software engineering. It is the only French institution that is a member of the Universal Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI), underscoring its commitment to academic excellence and innovation. Since 2013, XRPL Commons has collaborated with EPITA on content creation and research, advancing blockchain technology and related fields.
École Supérieur de Génie InformatiqueESGI is a leading French IT engineering school offering nine specialized tracks, including Blockchain, and emphasizes work-study programs across 11 campuses. Since 2024, XRPL Commons and ESGI have partnered to develop blockchain content and engage students through dedicated activities.
IE Business SchoolIE Madrid Business School students visited XRPL Commons in Paris for a unique study trip focused on blockchain innovation and hands-on learning with the XRP Ledger. Over several days, students formed startup teams to tackle real-world challenges, guided by expert mentors and alumni from the Aquarium Residency and XRPL Commons community.

UnicThe University of Nicosia (UNIC) hosted the Cyprus Tech Odyssey: XRPL Hackathon 2024 from January 18–20, in collaboration with Ripple and XRPL Commons. The three-day event featured workshops on Web3, NFTs, smart contracts, and the XRP Ledger, culminating in a hackathon where participants developed solutions in areas such as decentralized finance and identity management. XRPL Commons supported the event by providing mentorship and expertise to foster innovative blockchain applications.
